Unless it gets implemented, the common practice is to have a commit  
message like:
"Merged branch-xx to trunk (r123 - r129)".
It is then easy to 'svn log' and filter merges. If you feel more at  
ease with tags you can still do so, but the tag should be deleted  
after the merge (copies cost nothing anyway, and it is trivial to  
restore deletes).
