Hi Przemek,

I do variables substitution in my install.xml files by using ant 
filters. I use it to adapt the install.xml file of ArgoUML for instance 
(http://argoumlinstaller.tigris.org/).
You can look here for the code :

I would be interested if it exist other way to achieve this, but this work.
