Hi,
I'm looking for a platform independent installer package and I just
found izpack. From the docs I can assume that I can build a web
installer for windows and unix with it which downloads the packages
depending on arch and OS. However I have some questions to ask you.
These packages I can download then, can they be any type of package or
do they need to be specific type?
Is it possible to write something like a small updater with it so it
reads an online xml file, comparing version numbers and downloading the
new packages if it needs to? Or better can I actually read online xml
files and compare any values written into them? I think this would more
or less require some sort of scripting language like with NSIS or
something similar.
Thanks for your help
